2 Bucks and Whole Lotta of Fun

It's the little moments that we have together which seem so much fun!

Reflecting on the MOMents

My boys! I love being Riley & Owen's mommy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finding the Perfect Pumpkin

We took the kiddos to the pumpkin patch in town for some photo opportunities!

Owen's Birthday

It's hard to believe that little Owen is 1. Here is one my favorite pictures of him on his birthday. We were getting ready for his construction party in the morning!

Cheers

Riley and Owen playing cheers with their new cups from Aunt Pat & Uncle Jerry. We have a lot of fun in the mornings!!

Mission Accomplished

The prize posssession a popsicle for going potty in the toilet. Riley has accomplished going potty in the toilet. Today, was the big step, he went potty at Trader Joes. He let me know and so off we went to the potty!!!

He is very excited about his new accomplishment. This morning he took a BIG poop in the toilet, and he said in his own funny little way...That was a bbiiiggg one!! He is talking and singing more than he has in a really long time. It is a lot of fun playing with him.

1 more day Until Owen is 1

I was reflecting earlier in the day on what I was doing the last day of pregnant with Owen. Thank God it was my final day!! I don't think I could have gotten any bigger!!!! I pretty much did the same routine in the morning, I went walking with Dana having contractions. She was afraid, she was going to have to "get to know" me a little bit more than she thought, so we shortened our walk. I scrapbooked a bit while Riley napped. Thinking, wow, I probably won't get do that for awhile, that was true. I was getting so excited that the time was coming for me to meet this little guy! I was wondering what features he would have me & of Alan. How Riley would react to having a little brother? Then praying that all would go well for me and that the epidural would work and hoping I wouldn't have to do it at the same time!!!IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!TIMES 10!!!! We headed to target to keep my mind clear, we bought Riley's monkey costume for Halloween!!!HELL0!!IT WAS REALLY ONLY SEPTEMBER 19TH! Also, thinking, Dr. Altman, I told you the first due date was correct. Being so excited that Pa & Owen would share a birthday! We headed off church for Wednesday night dinner, where I did not have to cook, Riley was well entered. I was having contractions, hoping my water wouldn't break in the middle of the event. Spent most of my night up writing our agenda for moms together at 230 in the morning. Finally, I couldn't take it!!I woke alan up, we packed riley into the car like 3 times. Before I finally felt comfortable enough to go, and they wouldn't send me away. So. we are here 1 more day until he is 1. We spent it shopping & hanging out with Aunt Pam!!! He is such a cute sweet adorable little boy!!

Growing Up

They grow up so fast!!!

A Visit to the State Fair

I looked through my pictures and WOW! I've missed a bunch in between those dates! Life is busy, but it is SOOO MUCH FUN!!! We went with Grandma & Grandpa to check out the farm animals at the fair.

All Thomas All the Time

It is all Thomas the Train all the Time in Our House! Ever since, we saw the "Big" Thomas while camping in the Santa Cruz Mountains!

Most Requested Song

Riley is singing at Christmas Time Little Drummer Boy! I know this is an old one but this Riley's favorite Song!!!! it's still in the cd player in the van. You can't see much, but you can hear Riley singing.
This was after we meet up with Santa.

Playin' Guitar

Riley's Favorite Past Time is Music. Here is Riley making the guitar noise, playing the "guitar" & listening to the Radio in the backyard.
Happy Mother's Day!!
It's hard to believe I am onto my second mothers day. It's also hard to believe that I was get my picture taken in the morning in my pjs with the boys!! I really do get dressed and take a shower, granted its not always before lunch.
Alan picked out a cute card and the boys got me my new bible. Which I LOVE!! We enjoyed a mostly relaxing day at home. The McCord's came over for dinner later and we BBQed Lasagna. It wasn't to shabby.

Moms Together Update

This year, I was given the privledge to start a moms group at our church. I was attending one at a different church to be able to get involved and get out with other moms. I knew God was calling me to begin one at Cornerstone. Moms Together was born out of my vision and the help of my incredible steering committee!! When it started, I thought it would be the committee and few other moms. Boxing God in, basically. Again, He has no boundaries. At the close of our first year of Moms Together, we have had 20 moms get together regularly all year. I have a new mom on board for our steering committee to do all of our publicity. She is incredible. We are excited for a rest and a break, but are equally excited to start planning for next year.

Finally Catching Up

!Since, Riley's 2nd Birthday & Owen's Dedication...we've all ben a little sick, and then sick again as it seems. With two kids our sickness seem to get passed back & forth. Yesterday I spent most of the day disinfecting toys & everything else in the house as well.

It's hard to believe Riley is 2! Even, since his birthday, he is TALKING so much!! It is SOOOOO Much Fun!!!

Owen is Mr. Smiley. Even sick he still smiles! His new accomplishment...is clapping! Favorite Activity playing with his Piano & riding brothers Police Car.

Family Connections Yearbook

Howdy All!

Just lasst week we received in the mail the the Family Connections Yearbook. FCC puts together a yearbook of the children that have been adopted through the year. We've been waiting for it to arrive in the mail because we knew Mr. Riley would be in it! I cried before I even opened the yearbook! It was nice to be able to share it with Riley. When he saw himself in the yearbook he said "wiley" We have been so blessed to be able to call Riley our own. Little Owen has been sitting up on his own...and He is getting ready to start moving. Right now he enjoys doing the "airplan" on the floor. He gets the most kick out of watching Riley. Today he could hear him playing in the other room and he was straining his neck over my shoulder to see what he is up to!

Moment in Time

The other after we already had put Riley to bed, we were just getting ready to put Owen down. Owen ate and fell asleep in my arms and I put him to bed. As I was carrying him up the stairs, I was looking to not so long along ago, when Riley was that small. Realizing, that was how big he was when we first meet him at 4 1/2 months old. It's hard for me to believe we missed those first few months and the 9 (10 months) not carrying him. I feel like I did all those things. It has been really awesome to tell Riley and Owen about his (Riley's story.) Then at the same time, I wonder where the time went. One day before this Riley came running the down stairs and came into the den and said hello Mama.....ahhhh.....where did my big boy come from. What happened to my baby! Now in just a few short weeks he is mister chatter box!! Most often spoken sentences "where did it go" (mostly the remote! I can't wait for spring time)!

I really dont know why my pictures are so big!!

Howdy All!

Thanks for all of you who checked out the Blog!! I really have no clue why my pictures are so big!

It has been fun putting it together! I wish I could print and add to the scrapbook pages of the boys because at least Owen would have a scrapbook and Riley would get beyond his first birthday party!!

My Little Musicians

My Little Musicians

January 2008

Owen - Gets his 3 month pictures tomorrow!! (Few days shy of four months) Alan was holding Owen on the couch the other day and realized....HE HAS A TOOTH...then a couple of days later...ANOTHER TOOTH!!

Riley - He is turning into a big boy!! His language is developing so fast. He has turned into his mommy a bit...which is ok...he picks up HIS TOYS and wipes up his own spilled milk!! Its hard to believe in two more months he'll be 2!!!!

Alan - Surprised me with a Haircut/Color and a Pedicure for our 5 year anniversary!and still more 2 dozen roses!! There's another hard one to believe...5 years...we are still planning a trip to New York in the spring...hopefully, everything will fall into place. If not, we are going camping....a lot!!!!

I am really enjoying the boys a ton!! I am also enjoying the many other things going on. I started a moms group at our church, called Moms Together. It is amazing!!! We have about 20 women who get together twice a month.

September Highlights

September was a month...I thought we would never get to experience. We welcomed the birth of our second son Owen on September 20th! (Pa's Birthday)! One of the easier birthday gifts we've given! We finally headed to the hospital at 5 in the morning...we kept thinking and heading out to the car for couple of hours before that but I didn't want to get to Modesto and then have to go home! I had been having contractions the day before and all night! Alan was amazing! He did more than I thought he would! For someone who planned on staying by my shoulders the whole time didn't! My mom was second in command! I knew she would be great to have in the room! I needed both of them to help push little Owen! He was born at almost 4o'clock in the afternoon, weighing 8 pounds 13 ounces measuring 20 inches long!
WHAT A JOY!!! Riley met little Owen soon after but wasn't too sure and didn't not like seeing me in the hospital bed! It took Riley awhile to warm up to me...he loved Owen instantly!

We have throughly enjoyed watching Owen change so much! AND SO FAST!

Greatest Love Story Ever Told

Riley...my sweet boy...
That smile of his is just contagious. May 22nd, adoption day, final happened for us. Thinking, I would be very emotional.....I wasn't. I had one tear. Tear for Joy to know that God finished the work he had promised, he started for us. We were family, before we even meet him. As I am writing this months later, I laugh because when we the same day we went to go buy our van (the only good thing about being robbed) Riley was Riley and we found him playing in the mud!!!

Playing in the Mud

Playing in the Mud

WOW! What an amazing 2007!

I have tried for a couple of months now to get my blog going....but with two boys....the day (morning) goes by so fast!

So, hopefully...with a new year and somewhat of clean slate...I'll be better about keeping up to date with the family news.
